After tooth extraction, we recommend waiting at least 24 to 48 hours before reintroducing solid foods to make sure your mouth has had enough time to heal.

What to eat after a tooth extraction?

Post-tooth extraction, it’s best to choose soft foods that are easy to eat. A few great selections are applesauce, yogurt, mashed potatoes, and soup. While your mouth is healing, it’s best to avoid eating anything hard, spicy, or crunchy.

When to stop using gauze after an extraction?

Follow your dentist’s instructions when it comes to your unique recovery. But typically, you can expect to stop using gauze once the bleeding subsides. This can be a few hours post-extraction.

What are the advantages of pulling a tooth?

Tooth extraction offers a number of benefits. Most importantly, it reduces harmful bacteria that can damage your teeth and gums. Left untreated, a decayed or damaged tooth can wreak havoc on your smile, causing a domino effect of problems. Removing your affected tooth gives you the best chance for optimal oral health. Additionally, a tooth extraction can help ease dental pain almost immediately — especially if your tooth was severely broken or infected.

What are the risks or complications of tooth extraction?

How long does it take to recover from a tooth extraction?

It depends on the complexity of your case. However, most people feel back to normal in just a few days. While you can return to routine activities within 48 to 72 hours, it usually takes several weeks to heal the jawbone. Therefore, if you plan on replacing the tooth with a dental implant, you’ll probably need to wait a few months for full recovery.

I had my dental appointment yesterday and it was my first most extensive consultation of my teeth ever. Yes, it's uncomfortable meanwhile interesting to know the condition of my oral health. Dentist Reshma explained thoroughly how concerning the issue I have and the gravity of it. On the other hand, the staffs were doing great in welcoming and accommodating customers. Samantha and the other staff displays their job expertise very well.

I highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Booked appointments for my kids here and had a great experience. The doctor herself came off a little rushed in my opinion, however, was still polite and professional. The rest of the staff was great! Samantha was very warm and did great with my littles. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. Will definitely be making this our family dentistry.

I recently visited Forever Dental for my first appointment at the facility , and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the moment I walked in, the office staff, Yessenia and Karla were welcoming and professional, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free, which immediately put me at ease.
Dr. Dhake and the hygienist, Karla, took the time to explain everything in detail, from the x rays, exam process to the treatment plan. They were gentle, thorough, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I even was offered essential oils -lavender- to help calm my nerves, it helped to relax me and I will use it again next time I visit, I also appreciated how they answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. They were accommodating to my schedule and were able to fit in an X-rays, exam, cleaning and dental work-cavity treatments all in one visit.
This team made the experience of going to the dentist a pleasant one and I feel confident that I’m in great hands here (which hasn’t always been the case at other dentist offices). Now it’s time to make an appointment for my husband, he is long overdue.
If you’re looking for a skilled, caring, and professional dental team, I highly recommend Forever Dental!

After taking my grandsons to their dentist appointments at Forever Dental / Chicago with Dr Alexander Upwards and observing how good and painless the experience was for them I decided to book appointments for my wife and I.
My wife and I agreed that we have never had a more thorough exam. I’m 65 years old and learned quite a bit about my teeth with this young man than from any of the dentist I’ve had over the years.
His touch was painless.
His assistants were just as informative and the desk personnel very pleasant and welcoming. Highly recommended.
